Mairead McGuinness MEP for Monaghan and first Vice-President of the European Parliament has congratulated everyone associated with Glaslough Tidy Towns for the double win with the titles of Ireland’s tidiest town and tidiest village.
“It was a superb win against such stiff competition with 918 entrants throughout the country.
“Glaslough has been truly inspirational. This is a well-deserved distinction that has come after many, many years of hard work,” she said.
“With a starting point of enhancing its natural beauty, it brought all elements of the community together, listened and took on board the judges comments over the years and worked so hard, over so many years to achieve this goal today.
“Everyone involved deserves great credit and as a community we owe the Committee, including past members, a debt of gratitude,” she said.
